Skill Centers of America is the realization of a vision that began
in 1986 when Keith Davis
founded the organization. The embodiment of that vision encompasses SCOA
as we see it today, and as it will be in the future: a network of schools and training centers that
are designed to simply, "help people help themselves."
So far, the vision includes two retail thrift stores operating on-the-job training
programs, a vocational college with a main campus, a commercial printing operation that is
also a training program of the college, and most recently, SCOA Children’s Center, a preschool for children
ages two to kindergarten. SCOA is a special place, and the opening of the Children’s Center has magnified the
mission of this organization. |

| With the help of the community, Skill Centers of America continues to grow,
continues to strive to help people who are physically challenged and economically disadvantaged, and
continues to help people build a new future....brick by brick. |
